At The Treasure Place you’ll find a truly unique shopping experience. Our store is an ever-changing mix of tables and furniture made from reclaimed barnwood, repurposed and renewed one-of-a-kind pieces, along with high-quality new furnishings and decor. We love the challenge of reclaiming, recycling, and renewing old pieces to give them new life and purpose. Nowhere is this more evident than in our building.
The Treasure Place at Smucker Village was born by revitalizing an old, abandoned gas station and giving it new life. We saw great potential in the location, in the heart of downtown Intercourse, PA, right across the street from the popular Kitchen Kettle Village. Rather than simply tearing the old building down and starting again, we chose to remodel the existing building, taking advantage of the wide garage doors and large windows that were part of the original structure, creating an airy, open architecture. We added a 2nd floor to house additional furnishings and decor, inviting our guests to browse and be inspired!
Over 1 million people visit the quaint town of Intercourse, PA each year and we’re proud to be a vital part of the community here. The combination of the unique architecture, along with carefully selected furnishings & decor has made our store a popular destination with local residents and out of town visitors alike. A History of Amish Craftsmanship
The Treasure Place is proud to be a family business with a history of craftsmanship that goes back many generations. Both born into Amish families, owners Carl & Fan Smucker built a business based on hard work and high-quality workmanship. Their Amish heritage has given them a strong connection to the local community and to the highly-skilled Amish craftsmen who build our barnwood pieces.
Our barnwood collection is carefully handcrafted by talented local Amish using reclaimed wood from Pennsylvania barns that are over 100 years old. Each solidly-built barnwood piece has its own character and beauty that comes from its long history as part of a local barn. Our handcrafted products are built to last. At The Treasure Place, quality is a way of life and customer satisfaction is always a top priority. We guarantee that only the finest designs and quality-built pieces are brought to our customers.
